Harold Martinson

 1944-1953

Rev. and Mrs. Harold Martinson, together with their four daughters, Grace, Ruth, Joyce, and Carol arrived February 17th, 1944, from Frazee, Minn. and were welcomed the next day. The Martinson’s immediately recieved the work of the Senior and Junior yopung people, both of which had been rather dormant for some time. The work was greatly helped by Mrs. martinson and the four daughters.Rev. and Mrs. Martinson stepped up the tempo of the work on the Gulliver field, an active offshoot of our church. For this they recieved no remunition. Rev. Curtis Peterson stepped into the work ther in January, 1946, and stayed two years. Bethel student pastors and Rev. Peter Porta took over for periods, but Rev. Martinson continuously backed his work. In the Fall of 1950, a major remodeling job was done, and a dedication service was held May, 1951. On June 5th, 1952 he left to become pastor at the First Baptist Church, Blackfoot, Idaho, and later became pastor of a Community church at Bass Lake, California, Where Pastor and Martison made their home until his death on january 5th, 1975.
